Office Party

Rebecca groans. She’s just an intern. Why did she have to be the one to give the P&L report to the higher-ups? Well, she knew why; her manager didn’t want to be the one to bring the bad news.

She nervously makes her way to the CEO’s office, the stacks of reports hugged to her chest.

Even as an intern, she knew the reports were going to look bad. Their last quarter of sales tremendously tanked, especially since their competitor opened their shop right across the street.

She stands before the polished wooden door, its color dark like her boss’s shadow already looming over her.

She sighs before turning the golden knob. “Excuse me, Mr. Green, but I have the P&L reports for you and—”

Rebecca wasn’t expecting the CEO to be alone in his office, since he always has the office manager and sales manager near him. And she also wasn’t expecting all of them hunched over a children’s play table, sitting in kid-sized chairs, and having pretend tea with a few teddy bears.
